Diamond-Tex History

Martin Limestone, Inc., founded in 1933, is the manufacturer of Diamond-Tex products.

Diamond-Tex began in 1957 by the joint efforts of Simon Zook, the owner of a small quarry in southeastern PA, and Bill Wilson, a stone salesman from Philadelphia, who sold stone from Zook’s quarry.

Bill had been getting calls from municipalities needing dirt for ballfields.  Bill and Simon worked together to produce a ballfield mix from a blend of materials at the quarry.

Later, Simon purchased a similar byproduct material from Martin Limestone’s Limeville Quarry to use for Diamond-Tex production.  This relationship eventually led to the purchase of Diamond-Tex trade name and the processing equipment by Martin Limestone, Inc. in 1994.

Martin Limestone added the Diamond-Pro groundskeeping products to their distribution portfolio in the early 2000’s, and the Diamond-Gro turf topdressing products in 2008.

Martin Limestone, Inc. includes Martin Limestone Quarry Division which includes crushed stone products, ag-lime, and sport/turf products; New Holland Concrete, Burkholder Paving, and Martin Minerals, which produces industrial mineral products.

Martin Limestone, Inc. serves a wide variety of customers including builders and contractors, homeowners, farmers, manufacturers, architects and engineers, the golf course industry, horse track and stable owners, and athletic field groundskeepers.
